Jackie Hancock Nail, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 in Stephenville at the age of 76.

Jackie was born November 22, 1945 in Fort Worth to Jack and Bobby Jean Hancock. She grew up in Stephenville where she met Bill Nail who she married on December 1, 1962 after eloping in Las Vegas. Jackie worked at Halton’s Jewelry for many years before she joined the Burleson Police Department. In the early 1990’s she became the Victim Assistance Coordinator at both Burleson Police Department and the Johnson County Sherriff’s Department. Jackie also worked with Crime Stoppers and Crime Prevention within both departments. As Victim Assistance Coordinator, Jackie assisted Victims and Families of Sexual assaults, Domestic assaults, Suicides, Homicides and many other events.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, her parents and her son, Clifton Nail.

Jackie is survived by her 2 daughters, several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her final years, she moved back to Stephenville and resided with her daughter, Cristin Kelley and her husband Stephen Kelly of Stephenville, TX where she enjoyed bird watching and loving on her dogs, Little Boy and Ziggy.

A Memorial service will be held at  a later date.
