Tommy Lynn Washington of Stephenvillle, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at the age of 69. Tommy died peacefully with the love of his life, Kristi, and his children by his side. 

Tommy was born in Lubbock, Texas on September 25, 1953, to father, Archie Conway Washington, and mother, Bonnie Lewis. Tommy was a natural athlete and drawn to sports at an early age. After graduating from Crane High School, he was awarded a full scholarship to play basketball at Sul Ross State University. After graduating, Tommy’s love of basketball led him to coaching high school varsity basketball in Littlefield, Van Horn, Crane, Donna, Big Spring and Stephenville, where he heavily invested in youth basketball programs. After earning his Master’s Degree in Education, he left coaching to be the Assistant Principal at Stephenville High School and then the Principal at Gilbert Intermediate, and ultimately retired as Director of Transportation in 2016.  

Tommy met his beautiful wife, Kristi, whom he adored, and they married on March 13, 1991. They have celebrated over 31 years of marriage. Tommy cherished his wife and children, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. 

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters Gloria Dawn Reiner of Idaho and Sherri Faye Cox of Crane, Texas. He is survived by his wife Kristi Lynn Washington; his children Marcus Washington and wife Jessica of San Antonio, Stephanie Reed and husband Delynn of Argyle, Heather Peeler and husband Austin of Midland, Michael Washington of Midland, and Connor Washington and wife Taylor of Midland; his grandchildren Kaylee and Paisley Peeler of Midland, Avery and Kai Washington of San Antonio, and Taylor and Kellen Reed of Argyle. 

Services are scheduled for 4 pm on Saturday, November 19th at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville, Texas. Visitors are welcome to attend.
