Martha “Dawn” Lawhon, born on May 12, 1992 to parents Alan and Nelda Hannon, passed away on
December 1, 2022 in Abilene, Texas at the age of 30. Dawn loved music, reading, fishing and hanging
out at the lake. She also enjoyed watching her daughter play sports, attending Hords Creek Cowboy
Church, and volunteering at Coleman Senior Center. She was affectionately known as “DawnDawn”, as
Angel by her mother, and lovingly known as Mommy by her daughter.
Preceding Dawn in death are her father, Allan Hannon; grandparents, Murray and Ruth Harold, and
Patsy Hannon; uncle, Harold D (Possum) Murphy; and cousin, Kristi Murphy.
Surviving Dawn are her husband, Johnie Lawhon; daughter, Emilie Lawhon; mother, Nelda Hannon;
brother, Chris Hannon and wife Victoria and their children; back up mom, Mac Murphy; cousin and best
friend, Candice Jacobs and her husband Ricky and their children. Also surviving Dawn are several other
kinfolk and numerous friends.
Service Information
Visitation from 6-8 pm, Thursday, December 8, at Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Funeral
Service at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022 at Harvest Hills Funeral Home. Burial to follow at
Murphy Family Cemetery near Carlton.
