(March 11, 1945 – December 16, 2022)

Dorthy Sue Landes Cowan went to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 16, 2022 in Weatherford, Texas at the age of 77.  Sue was born to Clemmie Hammons Landes and Willie Melvin Landes on March 11, 1944 in Pampa, Texas.

Sue was an avid antique collector who always had dreams of having her own shop, most probably to offset her habit love of buying more antiques.  Over the years she dabbled and excelled at various hobbies including sewing, gardening, watercolor painting and dessert baking; she would say it was from necessity, but we know she really loved the creative process.  She always had a great sense of style, a better sense of humor and an excellent sense of timing for giving out advice that was in your best interest whether you wanted it or not.   She was a loving and cherished wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend and she spent a great deal of her life taking care of other people’s needs before her own.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Clemmie and Melvin Landes and her brother Deryl Landes.

Sue is survived by her husband of over 58 years, John Cowan of Brock, Texas; her brother David Landes of Mililani, Hawaii; her sons Mike Cowan of Pensacola, Florida, Scott Cowan of Mansfield, Texas and Neal Cowan of Brock, Texas; her grandchildren, Landon Cowan, Kenzie Cowan, Hunter Lindell and John Cason Cowan, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21st, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin, Texas.  Services will also be held at Harrell Funeral Home in Dublin, Texas on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 at 11am followed by interment at the Barbee Cemetery in Edna Hill, Texas.
