Karen Michelle Dominy was born on September 16th, 1967 in Hurst, Texas, to Mary Dayle Shook and Larry Cryer. Karen was known for being a loving wife and a wonderful mother. She loved to play, laugh, and take adventures with her three grandchildren. She was a woman of faith, family, love and laughter who had a heart for giving to those around her.
She was the matriarch of a family who adored her. She was a light to anyone she came in touch with. Karen’s inquisitive nature made every person she met feel special. Her love of the Lord lead her down a path of grace, joy, and strength that she passed on to her family and friends. She lead a life of intention, making sure she maintained and nurtured those in her life. She pushed us to strive for greatness and reminded us always to pray and keep our faith during troubled times.
Karen passed peacefully surrounded by her family at the age of 55 on Monday, January 16, 2023. She is survived by her loving husband Jason Dominy, daughter Sydney Taylor and favorite son-in-law Paul Taylor; grandchildren Samuel, Matthew, and William; brother Scott Shook and sister-in-law Jennifer Shook; sister Christie Hill and brother-in-law Mark Hill; sister Rhonda Cryer; nieces Jessica, Julia, Jordan, and Lauren; nephew Jacob; and great nieces and nephews Logan, Marshal, Leah, Layla, Evelyn, Alice, and Levi.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research.
