Patsy Parr Laird Collins, 75, of Stephenville, died Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Oklahoma City.
Graveside services for Patsy will be at 12:00 PM, Noon, Friday, February 3rd at the New Valley Grove Cemetery in Stephenville, with Dr. Paul McQuerry officiating. Stephenville Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements.
Patsy was born on September 6, 1947, in Stephenville, to the late Gary G. and Velma Elizabeth Chaney Parr. Patsy was raised in Stephenville, and graduated from Stephenville High School in 1966. She attended Tarleton State University, and received her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1969. Patsy was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. As a teenager and young adult, she was the church pianist. While living in Mustang, Oklahoma, Patsy served on the Women’s Missionary organization, taught Sunday School and vacation Bible school at Chisholm Heights Baptist Church, and while living in Stephenville was active at the Valley Grove Baptist Church. Patsy lived several years in Oklahoma, but most of her life was lived in Stephenville.
Patsy loved to sew, and for 20 years served as secretary/treasurer of the New Valley Grove Cemetery Association.
Besides her parents, Patsy was also preceded in death by her two husbands, David Laird and Robert ‘Bob’ Collins; also by a brother, Warren Parr; two infant sisters; and several aunts uncles and cousins.
Patsy is survived by her son; James Laird and Christi Kinder of Yukon, Oklahoma; and an aunt, Dovie Wright; step daughter, Tyna and husband Rob Cowan, stepsons, Jerry Collins and Mike and wife Amee Collins; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
