Marc Anthony Martinez, 30, joined our Heavenly Father on February 10, 2023. He was born on October 19th, 1992, in Waco, Texas to parents Roger and Lisa Martinez. He was a 2011 graduate of Midway High School in Waco before he went on to college at Tarleton State University where he majored in Kinesiology and played football. He was an integral part to the team’s win at the 2013 Lone Star Conference. He graduated with his master’s in 2016 and soon after was hired as the Linebacker Coach for the same team he had played on. On June 29th, 2019, he married Lacie (Metts) Martinez and they went on to have two beautiful daughters, Estella, five years old, and Camilla, eight months old.

Marc loved being outside and playing any and every sport possible with Estella, and he was willing to do anything to see Camilla laugh. A gym junkie through and through, he and his wife, Lacie, enjoyed their regular workouts together. The golf aficionado was known to drive to Waco most weekends just to play a round of golf with his brothers, Max and Matt––when Matt was in town. Marc was also known to rave about the big, fat steaks and messy ribs his dad, Roger, would grill for him. Ask any of his friends who played football with him and they will tell you he was “probably the best linebacker Tarleton has ever seen.”

He is survived by his wife, Lacie; two daughters, Estella and Camilla; mother and father, Lisa and Roger Martinez; brothers Matt (Grace) and Max. As well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandparents, and friends.

Celebration of Marc’s life will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 16th at the First Baptist Church in Stephenville with Pastor Ed Dittfurth officiating.  Burial will follow at West End Cemetery in Stephenville.  Visitation with the Martinez family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at Stephenville Funeral Home in Stephenville.
