Nancy Lee Clendenen was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on May 31, 1922, to Sam and Elizabeth Holliday. This last birthday, she reached 100 years of age.


She grew up most of her years in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin. Though she grew up in the city, she spent summers at her grandparent’s ranch where she met Buck. One of her greatest joys was riding horses and she developed a love for ranch life and Buck.


She taught schools for many years in Comanche, Texas where she is still remembered by many of her students today. She also loved to swim, sew, and had a talent for artwork.


She was preceded in death by her husband, H.B. (Buck) Clendenen. They were married on February 1, 1947, for an honorable 70 years. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mindi Lynne House, and grandson, Travis Denver Sherrin.


She is survived by her 3 girls and their families.

Daughter, Joyce Sherrin, and her husband Dwain.

Daughter, Jeanne Andrews.

Daughter, Bette House, and her husband Phil.

Nancy is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Memaw.
