STEPHENVILLE – Jack Anderson just earned the first individual title in Tarleton Men’s Golf’s NCAA Division I era, and now he has claimed the first conference award for the Texans too.

Anderson played in two tournaments this past week, highlighted by his medalist honors at HCU’s Colin Montgomerie Invitational on Monday-Tuesday at Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas, where he shot -12 (68-66-70). It marked the first individual title for the Texans in their revival season, and it was his best score of the year, surpassing his -8 finish at the Pat Hicks Invitational that placed him second in mid-February.

He also had the tied-third best score on Par 3’s, where he shot -3.

Tarleton took third as a team and posted their best score to par of the season at -10 (854).

Tarleton was one of four WAC teams playing in the event, finishing second behind UT Arlington (+14), ahead of Utah Tech (+34) and Southern Utah (+83).

Through the spring portion of the season thus far through three tournaments, Anderson has placed in the top-two twice, averaging a gross score of 70.2, with four sub-70 cards in nine rounds.
