Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray released a statement Monday morning advising parents of Dublin ISD students to be aware of the extra police presence on campuses due to a threat made against the school district over the weekend.

According to Ray, “On Sunday, May 7, shortly before 7 p.m., the Dublin Police Department received a report of a potential threat to a Dublin ISD campus. An investigation was immediately initiated and within two hours a suspect was identified. It was determined that the suspect was a juvenile, did not reside in the State of Texas and had no means of getting to Texas. It was further determined that there did not appear to be any imminent danger to Dublin ISD campuses. Due to the suspect being a juvenile and the ongoing investigation, no other details will be released at this time.”

Ray also reported Dublin PD officers, Highway Patrol officers and Erath County Sheriff’s Deputies would be on campuses today out of an abundance of caution due to this potential threat.
