Another school record broken, and several athletes qualify for finals as day two of the WAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships wraps up

NACOGDOCHES – The Texans scored several points in both the men’s and women’s events as the WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships wraps up with day two.

Morgan Lamberson broke the school record in the Women’s 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 10:47.78. With that time, she took seventh in the event and scored two points.

Jordan Rae scored two points as she took seventh in the women’s heptathalon with 4,688 points.

Alan Palmer and Reid Vincent both placed in the men’s long jump. Palmer took eighth place with a jump of 7.32m and scored one point for the Texans. Vincent took sixth place and scored three points with a jump of 7.50m. Vincent also qualified for the men’s 100m final with a time of 10.35 seconds. Justin Raines also qualified for the men’s 100m final as he won his heat with a time of 10.33 seconds. The men’s 100m final is scheduled to start on Saturday at 4:50 p.m. CDT.

Konnor Hoerman, Cornelius Coleman, and Ca’terrin Cox all qualified for the 110m hurdles final. Hoerman qualified third with a time of 14.28 seconds, while Coleman qualified fourth with a time of 14.30 seconds and Cox ran 14.35 seconds for the fifth fastest time. The men’s 110m hurdles final is scheduled to start on Saturday at 4:10 p.m. CDT.

Bailey Smotek won his heat qualified for the 800m final with a time of 1:50.87. The men’s 800m final is scheduled to start on Saturday at 5 p.m. CDT.

Kailey Sykora ran a personal best and qualified for the women’s 800m final with a time of 2:13.61. The women’s 800m final is scheduled to start on Saturday at 5:10 p.m. CDT.

Hanna Dudley won her heat with a time of 11.63 seconds and qualified for the women’s 100m final. The women’s 100m final is scheduled to start on Saturday at 4:55 p.m. CDT.
