From the moment you met Jeffrey, you knew you were being blessed and that a special friendship was being made. Jeffrey showed the kind of love that was unconditional and a true believer of the Lord with a heart to serve others. Jeffrey was an angel among us, a son, a brother, an “Uncle”, a cousin, a nephew and a special friend to so many. He will be greatly missed but have faith and know that one day, we will be reunited with him.

Jeffrey Scott Cooley was born on August 23, 1977, in Uvalde. His parents, Bill and Billiejo Cooley, raised their family in Brownwood and he was the youngest of five siblings. Jeffrey was a very proud Brownwood Lion and a member of the graduating class of 1998. Jeffrey was a long-term loyal employee at Woods Furniture and quickly became part of their family. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Stephenville, where he assisted in teaching the Friendship class and sign language. Jeffrey also was an avid volunteer with Meals on Wheels for many years. He loved doing the Lord’s work by helping and serving others and was known for his big smile, kindness, love, and generosity.

Jeffrey is survived by his siblings, Lena and James Nunley of Springtown, Michael and Heather Cooley of Keller, Tena and Spencer Kirk of Stephenville, and Nick and Jennifer Cooley of Stephenville. He is also survived by 7 nephews and 5 nieces; Nicholas Cooley, Jordan Cooley, Zack Cooley, Dustin Edmiston, Logan Kirk, Luke Kirk, Kameron Cooley, Ellen Cooley, Karleigh Cooley, Elizabeth Cooley and Emily Cooley. Also, Caden Cooley, great nephew, Charlie Jo Cooley, great niece and Megan Starr, a very special little sister to our family.

Jeffrey was proceeded in death by his parents, Bill and Billiejo Cooley.

The family would like to acknowledge Debra Ciccarelli, Jeffrey’s most precious friend and teacher of the Friendship class. She is a true gift from God with a heart for special needs and loved Jeffrey unconditionally.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the First Baptist Church of Stephenville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, at the First Baptist Church.
