Johnny Vance Hook, 73 of Millsap, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, surrounded by those who love him the most, were with him when he went to be with Jesus.
Funeral services for Johnny will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22nd at the First Baptist Church in Dennis with Danny Shearman and Ben McCleery officiating. Burial will follow at Pony Creek Cemetery in Erath County. Visitation with the Hook family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the Dennis First Baptist Church. Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.
Johnny was born on March 1, 1950 in Stephenville, Texas to Houston and Louise (Hamilton) Hook. He married Billie Lou Riggs on November 8, 1974 and they celebrated 47 years together. He and Billie Lou are long-time members of the First Baptist Church in Dennis, and in 1989 he was ordained as a Deacon at his church. For over 30 years, Johnny taught Ag at the High School and College level. His passions included training a variety of FFA teams for competition and supporting students in raising animals for stock shows, with his favorite being the Parker County Livestock Show. Most of all Johnny dearly loved his family and any activity the grandkids were involved in from sports to rodeo. He was so proud of his grandkids.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Billie Lou; daughters, Randi Brackney and Kallie Hare and husband Josh; grandchildren, Breeanna, Sawyer, Riggs, Hagen, and Hayes; his mother, Louise Hook; and a very large extended family and many many friends.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Houston Hook, his twin brother, Jim Hook, and an infant son.
