On August 6, law enforcement was called to the 9000 Block of FM 847 to a report of a horse that had been stolen sometime overnight.
Deputies and Investigators from the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, immediately began their investigation into the stolen horse. Within hours, the horse was located in a barn several miles from the residence where it was stolen. Upon recovery, the horse was quickly returned to its rightful owner.
Through subsequent investigation, a suspect was identified and questioned. On Tuesday, August 8, a warrant for the suspect, identified as Curtis Clayburn Garrison, was obtained and served at an address on County Road 177.

Garrison was arrested and transported to the Erath County Jail on the charge of Theft of Cattle/Horse/Exotic Livestock <$150,000 a Third Degree Felony. Charges on Garrison are pending.
