Stephenville downs Everman in front of home crowd

The Stephenville Yellow Jackets (1-1) got in the win column last week with their 14-7 win over the Everman Bulldogs (1-1). 

Junior Ryan Gafford completed 15 of 27 passes and threw the ball 194 yards, while also rushing for 36 yards and a touchdown on 8 carries. His favorite target of the night was junior Tristian Gentry who caught 6 passes for 83 yards. Senior Tate Marsha rushed for 164 yards on 37 carries and caught 3 passes for 26 more. Sophomore Jayden Lujan also caught 3 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. And senior Clayton Bullion caught the ball twice for 50 yards. 

Defensively, the Jackets were led by seniors Hyson Foreman (4 tackles), Mason Haynes (2), Rowdy Markland (11), Justin Stephens (3) and Phillip Wiggins (4). Sophomores Hudson Butchee (12 tackles) and Brighton DeVivo (5) and Kolton Dearth (2) also contributed. 

The Jackets are on the road this week, headed to Decatur on Friday. Stephenville will kick off at 7 p.m. against the Eagles (0-2).
