STEPHENVILLE — It’s another week, which means more awards for the Tarleton State football team.

The United Athletic Conference announced Monday that Texan wide receiver Keylan Johnson and Texan linebacker D.J. Harris have been named the UAC Offensive Player of the Week and UAC Defensive Player of Week, respectively.

Through two weeks of the season, these already mark the third and fourth awards Tarleton State has won out of eight possible. Defensive back Patrick Jones and kicker/punter Adrian Guzman were UAC Defensive and Special Teams players of the week last Monday.

This week, Johnson and Harris led the Texans to a 52-31 win against North Alabama in Tarleton State’s home opener to begin the season 2-0.

The Texans are 2-0 for the first time in their NCAA Division I era, beginning the year with a pair of wins for the first time since 2019. They’ve scored 104 points over the first two contests, their most points in a two-game stretch since Nov. 2-9, 2019, which also marked the last time the Texans had consecutive games with 50-plus points scored.
