Kevin Baez tabbed WAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week

STEPHENVILLE – In his first meet of the season Kevin Baez earned the TicketSmarter WAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after his second-place overall finish at the Texas A&M Invitational as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
In Baez’s senior season debut, he crossed the finish line five seconds behind the leader from host Texas A&M. Baez shaved 16 seconds off his time this go around posting a time of 24:09.8, notching his best finish in Aggieland.
Baez is no stranger to WAC Athlete of the Week awards. He has now earned his third honor, earning one in 2022 and 2023.

With the second-place finish from Baez, it helped notch the Texans a fifth-place team finish.

The Texans will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 29, as they head to the Arkansas to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival hosted in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
