Herman Emil Glueck of Cisco, Texas passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023 at the age of 76 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on May 24, 1947 in Cisco, Texas to Charlie and Hildegard Winge Glueck.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ida Jones. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Clara Smith Glueck, son Jason Glueck and Anna Rodriguez of Dublin, daughter Julie and husband Josh Honea of Cisco, grandchildren Hagen Black and wife Hannah, Harper Honea, and NavaLee White, sister-in-law Shirley Ables, nieces Rochelle Sanford, Kalynn Meyers, Paula Rehm, Bobby Weaver and Betty Jones, and nephew Doug Jones. His pallbearers are Jason Weisen, Brittian Barbier, Malcolm Hanson, Clint Sparks, Jace McShan and Pete Riola.

Herman married Clara June Smith on March 22, 1975 in Eastland, Texas. He graduated from Cisco High School in 1965. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Education from Tarleton State University in 1977 and worked as an Agriculture teacher at Cisco College and Ranger College for over 40 years. He was a life long member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco where he made many friends throughout the years.

Herman loved to tractor pull “Popeye” in the TTTPA with his son as well as being the pit crew for his son for 30 years at countless drag races. He enjoyed working on the farm teaching his kids and grandkids about the land and cattle. Herman taught his kids to laugh through tough situations, and he never met a stranger. Herman liked to tell jokes and pull pranks to always keep people on their toes and laughing!

Visitation will be at Chambers Funeral Home in Cisco on October 10th, 2023 from 5 to 7pm. A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cisco on October 11, 2023 at 2pm. Herman will be laid to rest next to his parents at Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
