Bobby “Bob” C. Lowe, age 87 of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully October
16, 2023 at home, surrounded by his family.
Bob was born August 5, 1936, to parents J.C. & Velma Lowe at home in Huckabay,
Texas. He attended school in Huckabay where he graduated in 1954. He was Co-
Captain of the boys’ basketball team and also played baseball. When old enough,
he helped his parents on the family properties raising livestock and various crops.
After graduating, he joined the Army National Guard in 1954 and served until
1962. During this time, he was enlisted as active duty during the Cuban Missile
Crisis.
He spent over 60 years in the overhead door industry and started his own door
company in 1987, United Door Sales of Kennedale, Texas. This company is still
open today and run by his son Bobby and grandson B.J. He enjoyed hunting and
raising cattle on the family property, where he learned from his father to love
guns and coin collecting. He also loved boating at Lake Grapevine and watching
John Wayne movies, this is where his family nickname, Bob Wayne, originated.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Lillian Morris, Geraldene
Griswald, Wanda Bradford-Lord, and Waldo Lowe.
He is survived by his 3 children, Mary & husband Antone Cepak of Granbury,
Bobby E Lowe of Granbury, and Laura & husband Terry Blount of Waxahachie. He
has six grandsons: Bradlee Shane & wife Shelly Cole of Granbury, Nathan & wife
Tara Cole of Tampa, Florida, Aaron Rose of Los Angeles, California, Patrick & wife
Diana Blount of Midlothian, Travis & wife Kristin Blount of Midlothian, and B.J. &
wife Holly of Springtown. He had six great-grandchildren Brody & Parker Cole,
Jaxson & Harper Lowe, and Brennan & Emi Blount. Along with many extended
family members, cousins, nieces, & nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Stephenville Funeral Home, on Friday October 20,
2023 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will be a graveside service following the visitation at Liberty
Cemetery, Gordon, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations go to
St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
