Rosalind Idalia (Weaver) Ray, age 83, left her earthly home to enter her heavenly home on Monday, January 1st, 2024, in her home in Fairy, TX. She was surrounded by her husband Bob Ray who was the love of her life along with her family. Rosalind was born on December 3, 1940, in Vinita, Oklahoma to Vernon and Isy Weaver. Rosalind and Bob fell in love and married on December 22, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas. Together they have wonderful sons. Their love for one another was unwavering as they shared 63 beautiful years together.

Rosalind faithfully served Fairy Baptist Church as worship leader for 58 years alongside her husband and pastor Bob Ray. Rosalind’s love for the Lord was expressed in how she served her church family and her community. She loved spending time with her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading to them, cooking, playing, traveling to games, school events, holidays, and celebrating every birthday. She loved living the farm life in Fairy as her and Bob raised goats. She loved sharing the love of Christ with everyone especially children through Power-kids and Vacation Bible School. She also loved leading worship each Sunday with her church choir and directing both Easter and Christmas Cantatas. She always felt blessed to teach her Women’s Sunday School class each week.

Bob and Rosalind served the Texas Baptist Bivocational Small Church Minister and Spouse Association for over 35 years, minister to small church pastors and their families to encourage and equip them in ministry while also working for the Baptist General Convention of Texas for seven years. Rosalind also served on the City Council of Burleson, TX for seven years before moving to Fairy, TX in 2001.

Rosalind is survived by her husband Bob Ray of Fairy, TX, her son Bob Ray III and wife Johanna of Fairy, TX, son Richard Ray and wife Monica of Fairy, TX, son Matt Ray and wife Tiffany of Cleburne, TX; brother Vernon Weaver and wife Cindy of Wichita, KS, brother Bob Weaver and wife Pam of Las Cruces, NM; grandchildren: Lauren and husband Dallon McKay, David Ray, Daniel and wife Carrleigh Ray, Josalyne and husband Talon Keeney, Chrissy and husband Jorge Cerda, Matthew Ray and Elynn and husband Ryo Baba; great-grandchildren: Katie and James McKay, Peter and Molly Ray, and Sota Baba, along with many nieces and nephews. Chosen family: Jonathan and wife Destiny Puentes and their children: Matthew, Ellouisa, Hadassah and Elijah; Zoe and Jason Sanders; Ryan and Maria Dennis and their children: Madeleine and Cameron.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon and Isy Weaver and sister Marilyn Mueller.
There will be a family visitation on Thursday, January 4th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Harvest Hill Funeral Home in Hico, TX. A celebration of life honoring Rosalind Ray will be held at Fairy Baptist Church on Friday, January 5th at 11:00 am. The services will be officiated by her son, Rev. Richard Ray, along with the family. A burial will follow at Fairy Cemetery. Pallbearers: Bob Ray III, Richard Ray, Matt Ray, David Ray, Daniel Ray, Dallon McKay, Talon Keeney, Matthew Ray, Jorge Cerda. Honorary Pallbearers: Don Bullard, Rickie Sowell, Mickey Turnbo, Terry Flory and Ray Battershell, Miles Miears, Tristan Schibler, Ryan Dennis, and Jonathan Puentes.

The family would like to say a special thanks to their Fairy Baptist Church family and friends for their prayers and care along with all the meals and visits. The love of our Church Family and friends has sustained us and continues to strengthen us. Thank you to all our family and friends for their love and support. We want to thank all her doctors, nurses and caregivers from Hamilton Memorial Hospital, Coryell Memorial Hospital and Rehab, Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Temple and especially Wings over Texas Hospice for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, all memorial donations can be made to Fairy Baptist Church.
