(April 7, 1951 – January 5, 2024)
Dwayne (D.E.) Eldon Jackson, born April 7, 1951, to the parents of Climmon and Zoritta Jackson,
passed away January 5, 2024 with both of his boys by his side as always. Dwayne was married
to the love of his life Rose Ann Jackson on December 31, 1976. He has been a member of the
Chalk Mountain community and Plainview Baptist Church for his entire life. Dwayne loved
ranching, hunting, being Papa to his granddaughters, checking on his boys, riding around in the
pickup truck with a great Aussie Cow Dog checking the cows, and loving Rose Ann. He
graduated Junior High from Three Way ISD, High School from Stephenville ISD, and Tarleton
State University with a degree in General Agriculture. Dwayne owned and operated his own
cattle, sheep, and farming operation named Lazy J Ranches throughout his entire life which
inspired his two sons to create a major show cattle operation. He had served as President of
the Chalk Mountain Cemetery Association, Sunday School Superintendent for Plainview Baptist
Church, President of the Erath County Independent Cattleman’s Association, Member of the
Central Texas Youth Fair, Member of the Somervell County Youth Fair, and Member of the
Walnut Springs Business for Youth in Agriculture Support Group. Dwayne had a perfect Sunday
School Attendance record throughout his entire life and would even attend church if no one
could make it due to weather or illness just to make sure the doors had gotten open that day.
He was the world champion at making a stubborn baby calf or lamb nurse its mother and an
incredible 42 domino player. His granddaughters, Jaelynn and Adalynn were his whole world.
Preceded in death by his wife Rose Ann (Parker) Jackson, parents Climmon Eldon Jackson and
Zoritta Evelyn (Anderson) Jackson
Dwayne is survived by his sons Jared Jackson, Jeff Jackson and wife Lauren Jackson,
Granddaughters Jaelynn Jackson and Adalynn Jackson.
