Edwin ‘Ed’ Dwain Goodman, 85, of Stephenville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024.
Graveside services for Ed will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 22, 2024 at West End Cemetery, with Werth Mayes officiating. Visitation with the Goodman family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Ed was born in Erath County, Bunyan Community, on March 1, 1938, to the late William Joseph and Hattie Adell Williams Goodman. He attended public school in Stephenville. Ed served in the Army National Guard for several years. His first job was with White and Weems Humble service station, and in 1958 he began his career with Gulf States Telephone Company, and retired after 45 years of service, and the seven name changes, with the telephone company in Stephenville. Ed was a fisherman, hunter, sportsman, and an avid enthusiast in antique cars. He loved to garden. Ed couldn’t wait for spring to arrive so he could prepare the ground to begin to plant his garden. Ed worked hard for everything he had.
Ed is survived by his wife, Janette; son Eddie Joe; sisters, Sue and husband Russell Bantau of Argyle, and Ann and husband Ron Anderson of Waterloo, Iowa; and several nieces.
Besides his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
The Goodman family wish expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Erath County United Way or Erath County Humane Society.
Service Information
Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21, at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 22, in the West End Cemetery.
