STEPHENVILLE — It is impossible to properly celebrate a man who has dedicated 36 years of his life to bettering everything and everyone around him, but Tarleton State University will try. On March 9, Tarleton State will honor outgoing Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lonn Reisman with a game dedication that includes a pregame reception and halftime ceremony.

Tarleton State has made this game free entry for fans to help all of Stephenville come out and celebrate Reisman. The Texans are also making this free attendance to show appreciation for a great fan turnout all season.

From 2-3:30 p.m., there will be a come-and-go pregame reception in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center ballrooms. Reisman and former players and staff will be on hand with refreshments provided. All supporters and other former players and staff who have not RSVP’d yet are invited. There will be a shuttle provided to all wishing to attend to and from the Wisdom Gym parking lot.

After the pregame reception, Texan Men’s Basketball will host their regular season finale game against Seattle U at 4 p.m. At halftime, Tarleton State will hold a halftime ceremony to honor Reisman. Fans should stay in their seats immediately following the first half to witness the special event.

Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Reisman announced in October that he is going to retire from Tarleton State this spring after 36 years at the university, including 31 years as the athletic director. Reisman is the longest tenured AD in school history, topping W.J. Wisdom’s 20-year career at the helm. He also led Tarleton Men’s Basketball to 654 career wins as the head coach, the most wins by anyone in Tarleton State history.
