Services for Jerry Glazier Packwood, age 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Morgan Mill Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Mill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Lacy Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.
Jerry was born in Erath County, Texas, on March 31, 1931, to parents L.F. Packwood and Bessie (Walker) Packwood. He married Wanda L. Cole on September 7, 1948, in Tolar, Texas.
Jerry was a member of the Morgan Mill Baptist Church. Jerry was twice a past master of the Morgan Mill Masonic Lodge, and also had membership in the Stephenville Masonic Lodge. Jerry enjoyed his work as a well-respected construction superintendent where he spent a majority of his career at Ford, Bacon & Davis. Jerry and Wanda made a home in several different states including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Michigan, New Jersey, Washington, and Kansas. Jerry liked to shoot a mean game of pool and also enjoyed spending time working on his ranch. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Packwood; grandchildren, Jason McCourt and wife, Holly of Amherst, New Hampshire; Emilee Johnson and husband, Drew of Garland, Texas; and two great-grandchildren Evelyn Johnson and Leland Johnson, both of Garland, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Janke; and one son, Jerry Mike Packwood; and five siblings.
