STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton State Beach Volleyball will once again make history as they will host Texas A&M-Kingsville for a doubleheader on Friday in Stephenville. The first match will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the second match scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

The pair of matches will mark the fifth and sixth matches in program history as the Texans will look to keep things going following their 4-1 win over Nicholls State back on Feb 24.

It marked their first win in program history. Emma Halcomb and Allison Bryant picked up the Texans’ first point with 21-14, 21-14 set wins before Isabel Gonzaba and Tatum Busch earned point two (21-15, 21-19) putting the Purple and White one point away from clinching. Sydney Garrison and Rajini Fitzmaurice earned the clinching point (21-15, 21-19). Breanna McDonough and Grayson Schirpik finished things off with a 22-20, 21-19 win.

The Texans opened their inaugural season at the Cowgirl Beach Bash hosted by McNeese State on Feb. 23-24. The Purple and White started things off hot as they went face-to-face with at the time No. 20 Cal Poly.

The Javelinas of Texas A&M Kingsville are currently 10-5 on the season and have a win over Nicholls State as well. The Javelinas finished last season 12-18 with a 0-6 record on the road.

The matches will be free for fans to attend, there will not be tickets.
