(February 18, 1965 – April 8, 2024)
Barry Lee Smith, 59, was released from his broken earthly body on April 8, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer complications. He was born on 2/18/1965 in Freeport, Texas, lived his early years in rural Comanche County, and attended school in Hamilton and Stephenville.
As a motorcycle enthusiast and avid hot rodder, he leaves a legacy of fast bikes and cars as well as having an influence on many people whom he helped along the way. Thrills on two and four wheels, smoky burnouts, high horsepower, and loud exhaust pipes were all experiences Barry loved.
He married Jeanette Morton in 2016 and found a best friend and soulmate. He was preceded in death by his parents, May Pearl Smith and Frank M. Smith and is survived by his wife Jeanette Smith, brother Glenn C. Smith, and sister-in-law Elaine Smith.
A life celebration will be held on April 27, 2024, at the Stephenville Senior Citizen Center, 164 E. College, from where lots of iced tea, snacks, and a gathering of classic cars will all pay to honor Barry’s life on Earth.
