Sherry Dawn Lane, born July 20, 1939, in Duffau, Texas to parents Lester and Stella (Cavitt) Herod, passed away April 28, 2024, in Temple, Texas at age 84. Sherry enjoyed her grandchildren, growing vegetables and working in her flower garden, presiding over the Hico Cemetery Association and keeping cemetery records. Sherry was a member of the Hico Garden Club and a big advocate for the Hico Volunteer Fire Department.
Preceding Sherry in death were her parents, husband Raymond Earl Lane, sons, David D. Lane and Lester Ray Lane.
Surviving Sherry are children, Terry Lynn Lane and wife Sheila Polk Lane, Diana Lane Cowen and Husband Jeff; daughter in-laws Billie Donley Lane and Lisa Lane; grandchildren, Brandon Keller and wife Nikki, Jared Keller and wife Chandra, Justin Lane and wife Danya, Charles Lane Cowen and partner Mitchell Frazzell, Michael Cowen, John Wesley Lane and wife Amanda Pippin Lane, Angie Couto, Cody Lane and wife Kimberly, Sarah Shipp and husband Jarrett, Ken Lane and wife Kelly, Chris Lane, Dakota Lane and wife Jasmine, Makayla Lane, Danny Sutton and Kayla Sutton, 23 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Graveside Services 11:00 am, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Hico Cemetery, with Charles Cowen officiating.
Family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hico Volunteer Fire Department.
