The Stephenville Yellow Jacket baseball team (31-10-1) swept the Seminole Indians (27-10) in two games this past weekend to claim the Regional Semifinal title. They went to Seminole and won, 5-1, on Thursday. Then Saturday, the Jackets took Game 2 in Stephenville, 4-3, after a weather delay.
Now, Stephenville moves on to the Regional Finals in Lubbock against the Canyon Eagles (26-7-1), who beat Springtown, 8-1, to advance to the finals. The Eagles are coming out of District 4 in third place behind undefeated-in-district Randall and West Plains, both are now out of playoff contention.
All Region 1 Final games will be played at Law Field on the Texas Tech Lubbock campus. Game 1 will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30. Game 2 will begin at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31, with Game 3 to be played 30 minutes after if needed.
