September 30, 1943 ~ July 29, 2024 (age 80)
Ronnie Cox, 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, July 29, 2024. Ronnie was born September 30, 1943 in Pampa, Tx to Juanita and Curtis Cox. In 1962, Ronnie married his wife, Diane, who later gave him his three beloved daughters- Kim, Rona, and Cindy. After 40 years of marriage, Diane passed away from breast cancer. A few years later, Ronnie met Linda and the two married in 2006, giving Ronnie his bonus children, Randy and Robin.
Ronnie’s faith in the Lord was strong and was always the guiding light in his life, shining through any advice given or life lessons told. He was loved by everyone he met, and always had a good story (or five) to tell all who would listen. He was a family man who loved his family well- always there to lend a hand or a listening ear if anyone needed to talk.
As a younger man, Ronnie enjoyed hunting in Colorado, and fishing when he could. Later on, he would take up square dancing (much to everyone’s surprise) and playing 42 with his friends. In his last years, he enjoyed spending time restoring and showing off his ‘69 Corvette, and almost had it completed before he passed.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Linda Cox; children Cindy Davidson, Randy Johnson and wife Sophia, Robin Sheetz and husband David; grandchildren Candice, Gary, Melissa, Jared, Jace, Jalyn, Brittany, Lexi, Rylee, Cody, Connor, Chase, and Chance; ten great grandchildren; brother Gregg and wife Linda Burt Cox.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his mother and father, Juanita and Curtis Cox; wife Diane Cox; daughters Kim Johnston and Rona Mills; and brother Boris Cox.
Funeral services for Ronnie will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at West End Cemetery. Visitation with the Cox family will begin at 9:00 AM, one hour prior to services.
