“It is an honor to be recognized by my peers for the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association 2024 Frank Medina Award,” Dr. Green said. “To be associated with an award named after a pioneer of our professions who had such an impact on his students inspires me to continue to provide the best support I can for the next generation of athletic trainers. The best part of what I do is seeing our students become successful healthcare professionals and continue to make an impact on their patients.”

Dr. Green has been a faculty member in the university’s College of Health Sciences for five years. She has been an assistant professor in the Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program as well as the MSAT Program Director since 2020. She is also currently the department head for the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences program.

“I am incredibly proud of Dr. Green as the most recent recipient of the Frank Medina Award,” said Dr. Matt Laurent, Dean of the School of Health and Clinical Professions. “Her commitment to excellence as a healthcare provider as well as athletic training educator across her career are second-to-none. I could not be more thrilled to see her recognized with this honor.”

Dr. Green also received the Faculty Excellence in Student Success Award in Spring 2024, as well as the 2022 Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association Chairman’s Service Award.

“Dr. Green is well deserving of the Frank Medina Award from the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association,” said Dr. Steve Simpson, Director of Sports Medicine and a mentor of Dr. Green. “She has served the NATA, SWATA, and TSATA for years and continues to do so. As a Tarleton alum and former student of mine, I am so proud of Andi and all she has done for TSU, the Athletic Training program, and the profession. I can’t wait to see what she will accomplish next; it will be great.”
