The local branch of the ChaseWell organization held an informational meeting last week at the Paradigm building in Stephenville. ChaseWell Executive Director, Kevin Miles, is from Stephenville and said he is excited to implement the program here.

Below is more information on the organization and its plans for the future in Stephenville from Miles.

ChaseWell, Inc. (www.chasewell.org), an advocate for mental health across the nation, is proud to announce a partnership with The Gathering Place. This collaboration aims to make mental health services more accessible and supportive for those in need, particularly through the introduction of a “pay what you can counseling” program.

Recognizing the growing need for mental health services in our area, ChaseWell and The Gathering Place have joined forces to offer counseling services for those who cannot afford it, ensuring that financial constraints are no longer a barrier to receiving essential care. With the “pay what you can” model, individuals can access professional counseling at a rate they can afford, and ChaseWell will cover the remaining cost, ensuring that no one is turned away due to their inability to pay. This is accomplished by people in communities giving to support this cause.

In addition to this innovative counseling program, ChaseWell hopes to raise enough funding to provide an administrative person to manage the growing team of volunteers and support groups at The Gathering Place. This support will enhance the coordination of services, allowing The Gathering Place to expand its reach and impact within the community.

The partnership also includes plans to utilize the gym space at The Gathering Place for additional mental health services. This expansion will allow for a variety of activities and support groups, creating a welcoming environment where individuals can connect, heal, and grow together.

“We are excited to partner with The Gathering Place in this vital effort to address the mental health crisis in our community,” said Kevin Miles, Executive Director of ChaseWell. “By removing financial barriers and expanding access to care, we are making a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.”

Over the next month and a half, we will be sharing this story and hope to have funding available for counselors at The Gathering Place to offer this to clients beginning October 1. If you, your church, or your organization would like to learn more, Kevin Miles is available to come share with your group about ChaseWell and how you can be involved. Kevin can be reached at [email protected].
