Honeybee volleyball wins first two matches of season

The Stephenville Honeybees (2-0) started the 2024 campaign with back-to-back wins on Monday and Tuesday and are ranked sixth in the state in 4A by the Texas Girls’ Coaches Association.

The Bees welcomed the Granbury Lady Pirates (0-1) to Stephenville High School’s Gandy Gym on Monday evening. Granbury won the first set, 25-12, and Stephenville took the second, 15-25. Then the Bees won the third set, 23-25, and another close fourth set, 21-25, to win the match. 

Then Stephenville traveled up the road to Burleson on Tuesday to battle the Lady Elks (0-1). Once again, the teams traded wins in the first two sets, with the Bees taking the first, 25-12, and Burleson taking the second, 19-25. Then Stephenville ran away with the match, winning the next two sets, 25-18 and 25-11. 

The Bees next matches will be tournament play on Friday, August 16, at 5:30 p.m. against the Texas North Central Academy (0-1) and then will at 8:30 p.m. against the Tolar Lady Rattlers.
