On Monday, September 23, the FAITH Lady Knights took on the Azle Lady Hornets for their senior night game. The Lady Knights fought hard, but Azle came out victorious in this 5-set match.
In the first set, the Lady Knights started strong winning, 25-17. Set 2 was a hard fought battle and #4, Charlsey Cole and #66, Kenzi Black were key players in winning this set, 26-24.
The next set was back and forth, but the Knights came up short losing set 3, 21-25. FAITH had some communication errors, causing them to fall short in set 4, 11-25.
Set 5 was a battle and the intensity and energy of the gym added to the anticipation of who would come out victorious. The Lady Knights gave it all they had but were unable to gain a victory losing the final set, 12-15.
“We came out to play tonight. We have 8 seniors and they gave everything they could,” Coach Kristi Norwood said, “Last time we played this team, we didn’t get to the 5th set, but this time we started out on top and that is all I can ask for.
“At the start of the game I said leave it all on the court; act like this is your last time to step on the court and that is exactly what they did. We can’t control mishaps in a game, but we can control how we play and how we finish, and I could not be more proud of them.”
The Stephenville FAITH Lady Knights will travel to Cleburne Christian on Tuesday, October 1.
