Services for Gobin Boodoo will be held Monday, October 14th at 2pm at Sundown Crematory in Mineral Wells, Texas. Gobin passed away at the age of 72 on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at his home in Stephenville, Texas. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home and services will be performed by Pundit Murali Krishna.

Gobin was born in Trinidad and Tobago on June 14, 1952 to parents Boodoo Ramoutar and Sanicharee (Chabilal) Ramoutar. He grew up of Hindu faith in the town of St. Madeline. Gobin immigrated to the United States of America in the 1970’s, where he lived in New York City and became a welder. He met and married Diana (Puleo) Boodoo and raised their two children. Diana preceded him in death on September 5, 1999.

In New York, Gobin’s favorite activities were fishing, horse race wagering, racquetball, and making and flying kites. Once Gobin bought a house in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania in 2004, he could often be found trying to utilize his fabricating skills with DIY home projects. His trips to the Hudson River turned into trips to the state park lakes. If he wasn’t doing any of these things, he was kicked back watching an American Western or 1950’s American television shows. However, there was nothing Gobin loved more than having a good time with family and friends.

After 20 years in the Pocono Mountains, Gobin moved to Texas in 2024 to escape the cold and comfortably live out his life. He was likely to be caught snoozing on the porch, soaking in the Texas heat; or kicked back watching TV with new throwbacks in the rotation, In the Heat of the Night and Walker, Texas Ranger.

Gobin is survived by his son, Anthony Boodoo of Brooklyn, New York; his daughter, Leandra Boodoo of Stephenville, Texas; his mother, Sanicharee Ramoutar of Brooklyn, New York; and his six brothers and one sister.
