James Edward Bagley passed away on October 2, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. He was 68 years old and a resident of Dublin, Texas. Light refreshments will be served at Harrell Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 8, at 1:00 pm. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, October 8, at 2:00 pm; with the eulogy given by Pastor Freeman of the Highland Avenue Congregational Methodist Church. James’s burial will follow at New Dublin Live Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Aaron Sexton, Morgan Sexton, Jamie Bagley, and Roger Johnson.
James was born in Garland, Texas. His parents were Christine Nether and James Melvin Bagley. He graduated from Dublin High School in 1973. James started out in the oil field for 10 years as an Oil Exploration Surveyor with mathematical abilities. He had a passion for classic cars and hot rods that led to him being an auto dealer for most of his life. When he was not buying and selling automobiles he was working on his ranch. In his free time, he liked to go to concerts, take trips to the beach, hit a backroad, or spend quality time with friends and family.
James is preceded in death by his mother Christine (Tina) Nether, his father James Melvin Bagley, his brother Wayne Dosier, his aunt and uncle Mildred and Mike Spann, his grandparents James Polk and Myra Bagley, Dorothy and Herman Boyt.
James is survived by his daughter Zoey Bagley, his daughter Dawn Sexton, his granddaughter Ava Sexton, his brother Jim Bagley, his cousins Charlotte Spann and Deborah George, and all their families.
The Bagley family would like to thank Pastor Freeman and the Highland Avenue Congregational Methodist Church, the Vitas Inpatient Hospice Unit at the Dallas Methodist Medical Center, and Dr. Kelly Doggett for being his trusted doctor.
