Thomas Anthony Gordon, known to many as Tom, passed away on October 22, 2024, in Stephenville, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 21, 1942, in Dallas, Texas, to Virginia (Holliday) Gordon and Hugh Gordon, Tom lived a life full of dedication and service.

Tom’s educational journey began at Irving High School, followed by Kilgore Junior College. He pursued business law at the University of Oklahoma and later at North Texas. His career spanned over three decades at Delta Airlines, where he worked from 1962 until his retirement in 1994.

A proud veteran, Tom served as a Sergeant and Medic in the 12th Milphap Medical Advisory Team in Vinh Long, Vietnam, with the Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1972.

Tom was deeply involved in his community as a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Dublin. He served as mayor of Dublin and was an active member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, City Council, and EDC. Despite facing challenges such as polio at a young age, Tom participated in the salk vaccine trial and lived a life full of vigor and passion for the outdoors.

He cherished his time fishing, boating, and even mowing the lawn, but above all, he was a dedicated father and loving husband. Tom’s legacy of service and love will be remembered by all who knew him.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Hugh Gordon, his wife Judy Gordon, nephew, Alan Gordon, and sister-in-law, Mary (Wellborn) Gordon.

He is survived by his daughters, Hollie Garrett and husband, Kevin, Susan DiCiccio, brother, Danny Gordon, grandchildren, Clayton Garrett and wife, Heidi, Stefan Garrett and wife, Jamie, Morgan DiCiccio, Ryan DiCiccio, great grandchildren, Caiden Hubbard, Beckett King, Aurora Ann ” Rori” Garrett, niece, Jill Jones and husband, Joe, and her children, Austin Jones, Grace Jones, and numerous other friends and extended family members. 

Graveside services will be held at the Old Dublin Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00pm.
