November 17, 1955 ~ October 24, 2024 (age 68)
Billy Eugene Garrett, “Pawpee”, 68, of Hico, Texas, passed from this life on October 24 th , 2024. Billy was a son of the late L.D. And Lillie Louise Garrett of Stephenville and a very loved brother to 16 siblings.
Billy lived his life by his own terms. He had many things he regretted but has always felt his children
were the best thing in his life that he did right. His pride and joy were his children, his grandchildren, and
his beautiful wife.
Billy was a very hard worker, oftentimes having 3 jobs at one time to support himself and his kids. He
was always working hard but he never missed a single football game to watch his son play or miss a
moment to be there for his baby girl when she needed her Daddy.
On December 27 th, 2022, at their beautiful wedding at his son and daughter in laws house, Billy stood at the alter as his son walked the love of his life, Stacy, down the aisle to finally make her his wife after 14
years of being together. We have never seen Billy more happy, alive, proud and in love.
He will be missed for his sense of humor and silliness, his love for all things colorful and bright, definitely
his stubbornness, spending time with his family playing spades, his love for zippo lighters and his
complete love for four wheeling and camping at River Run with his kids and nephews Matthew and
Shane. Those trips will now be in your honor Pawpee. You will always be with us.
Billy is survived by his wife Stacy. Who he always stated was the best thing that ever happened to him.
His children and their spouses, Steven and Tasha Garrett, of Stephenville. Cyndi Garrett and Husband
Matt of Bluff Dale. His grandchildren, who he spoiled way more than acceptable, Raiden Spruill, Sarah
Eldred Garrett, Kaitlyn Garrett and Madison Lewis and special adopted son Kevin, who he and his wife
treated as if he was their own, numerous siblings with only 11 left remaining sadly, nieces, nephews,
cousins, extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, who are extremely missed, L.D. “Pawpaw” And Lillie Louise
“Memaw” Garrett. Several of his siblings, have all passed to soon from this world, brothers Terry
and Jerry, sisters Sherry, Evelyn, Betty and Shirley. Billy is also preceded by his precious weenie dog
Willie, who we are certain greeted him with a excited spin, asking for a belly rub and begging his Daddy
for treats.
As per Billy’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial and celebration will be held on a later date at
his chosen location. We promise to carry out every one of his requests.
“Be at peace Pawpee. We are glad you are no longer in pain and free from your chains. You can now
stand right next to your children, wife and grand babies, with full open lungs, where you have always
wanted to be. We have got it from here Dad, and will all take care of each other. We love you, and we
hope you give em hell up there”
