There was only one county race in this election – for Erath County Tax Assessor-Collector. In that race, Valerie Stephen (R) received 14,390 votes while Marycruz Serrano (D) received 2,516 votes.
In Morgan Mill, the school board held a race for Place 1 Trustee between David Kincannon, who earned 485 votes and Allen Cobb, who got 99.
Lingleville ISD also held an election for trustees. In Place 1 – Andrew Grimm received 287 votes and Sonya Koke earned 277. For Place 3, Jerod James received 268 votes and Larry Griffin got 272 votes.
Votes were also cast in Eastland County. Cumulative totals were Place 1 – Andrew Grimm 311 and Sonya Koke 283; Place 2 – Justin Wilson 552; Place 3 – Jerod James 287 and Larry Griffin 278; Place 4 – Brent Hallmark 534.
Huckabay ISD held an election for trustees and Betty Peterson received 570 votes, Brett Thetford earned 508, Casey Health won 430 votes and Nell Culpepper got 469. In addition to the trustee election, Huckabay ISD also held a bond election. Both propositions failed with Prop A receiving 355 votes For and 554 Against, while Prop B received 345 For votes and 564 Against.
It was a different outcome in Bluff Dale ISD where in the bond election, Proposition A passed with 523 votes For and 517 Against. Prop B failed with 420 votes For and 612 Against. According to the ballot, Prop A will be “The issuance of $1,000,000 of bonds for the construction, acquisition and equipment of school infrastructure improvements (with priority given to the replacement of the District’s septic system with a wastewater treatment plant to comply with TCEQ requirements), and the levy and imposition of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of, and interest on, the bonds. This is a Property Tax increase.”
