Karen Barnett, age 76 of Whitney went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2024. She was born in Gorman, Texas on November 29, 1948. She grew up in Carlton, Texas and attended Tarleton State University. She was married to Drewford Barnett on June 7, 1966. She was employed as a dental assistant and was a local business owner of Barnett’s Flowers and REMAX Realty. She enjoyed serving her community, was a talented seamstress and an avid reader. She was a member of Hillsboro church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, W.H. Tinsley Jr. and Betty Tinsley.
She is survived by her husband, Drewford Barnett of Whitney, TX, her children Michelle Mobley and husband Robert of Belton, TX and Enoch Barnett of Mansfield, TX. She is also survived by grandchildren Madison Mobley of Belton, TX, Micayla Russell and husband Jackson of Temple, TX, Ethan Barnett of College Station, TX, Hunter Barnett of College Station, TX and Victoria Barnett of College Station, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Ken Tinsley and wife Joyce of Hico, TX
A memorial service is planned for December 14, 2024, at the Iredell church of Christ in Iredell, TX at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home or the charity of one’s choice.
