STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton State soccer junior goalkeeper Mikayla Kendall earned 2024 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s All-Pacific Region Second Team.

Kendall becomes the first player in program history to be recognized with a United Soccer Coaches postseason award. At the end of the regular season, Kendall and teammate Kaitlyn Flanagan earned the program’s first Second Team All-WAC selections.

“We are very proud of Mikayla to receive this award,” said head coach Pete Cuadrado. “She was an integral part of the team’s success on the field this fall and it’s nice to see her get recognized for her efforts.”

In her junior season, Kendall was one of the best goalkeepers in the WAC. The Orange, Calif., native, led the WAC with 106 total saves. She posted the top mark in the league for the second consecutive season. She led the league in save percentage and was fourth in the conference with a .870 goals against average. The junior posted six shutouts, ranking third-best in the conference.

Kendall was one of the top goalkeepers in the nation ranking high in the nation in many categories for the second year in a row. Kendall’s .862 save percentage was tenth in the nation and she cracked the top five during the season. She was 17th in the nation in total saves and ranked 42nd in saves per game. The junior ranks ninth among active D1 goalies with 5.40 career saves per game. She is also 24th with 292 total saves.

This season she was one of three Texans to start all 20 matches. She played all 90 minutes in all but three contests and in six of the seven WAC games. The Orange, Calif., native, tallied two shutouts in league play and allowed a goal or less in five conference contests. She tallied a season-high 13 saves against Power Five opponent Houston and 12 saves on the road in a 2-1 victory over California Baptist. She was credited with all nine Texan wins this season, upping her career total to 19, all wins in program history.

She helped guide the Texans to their first WAC Tournament berth in the three years of the program. Tarleton posted its first winning season with a .525 winning percentage. The Purple and White set program records with nine total victories and three conference wins.

Kendall was the only goalkeeper selected on the second team, with only one also selected on the first team. Kendall represents Tarleton as one of four WAC programs represented in the All-Pacific region and in any region of the USC All-Region teams.
