STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton State Track and Field is making breaking school records normal, with six falling at the Stan Scott Invite and Multis across the past three days at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center.

Tarleton State had another record-breaking weekend, with six school records falling. A pair of athletes claimed two. The Texans also set 19 new top 10 performance bests across the three-day event.

“It was a solid meet for our Texans this weekend,” said head coach Bobby Carter. “We had many school records broken and many personal bests. Every week this team is getting stronger and stronger and that’s what we like to see. I am very excited to see what the next few weeks hold as we get closer to conference and national championships.”

Malak Rashwan rebroke her own record in the 60 hurdles as well as the pentathlon record. She rebroke her own Egyptian national record in the 60-meter hurdles as well.

Victoria Cameron also rebroke her own record, twice in the 60-meter dash. Amandine Estival broke both the 200 and 400 school records.

Joren McKeever claimed the new high jump program record in his Texan debut on the third day.

Day 1

On the first day, Rashwan was the only Texan to compete in the multis. The Egyptian native broke the school record in the pentathlon with 3,553 points. She also rebroke her program and Egypt national record in the 60 hurdles by .01 seconds, with a new time of 8.51 seconds. The freshman finished second in the 60 hurdles, and third in both the long jump and 800 meters.

Victoria Cameron broke her 60-meter record twice for the second-straight meet. The redshirt-freshman sensation torched her competition in both the prelims and semis winning by over .3 seconds in each. Cameron broke her previous record of 7.19 seconds in the prelims with a 7.18 run. Then less than two hours later, broke it again in 7.14 seconds. She was the top qualifier for the finals, but did not compete. Cameron now holds the top four single times ran in the 60 in school history and the fourth best time in the world.

Dudley held the previous school record and improved her now second-best time in school history to 24.28 seconds. Taylor McFarland also turned in a top 10 performance, crossing in 24.83, the seventh best time in program history.
