Jo Dean Lippard, a cherished and devout servant to her faith, family, and community, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025, at the incredible age of 93. Born on October 26, 1931, in the small town of Hico, Texas, Jo Dean was a beacon of love and devotion, deeply rooted in her Christian faith and committed to a life full of warmth and service.

Jo Dean’s early years were spent in the rural setting of Edna Hill, working on her father’s pecan farm and tending to the chores of the household as the second oldest of six children. After graduating from Dublin High School, her life took a beautiful turn when she married Weldon Lippard in 1952 in Erath County. Their union was characterized by love, mutual respect, and shared spiritual convictions. Together, they built a family and became pillars in their community of White Settlement, Texas, offering a shining example of commitment and partnership.

A significant aspect of Jo Dean’s life was her unwavering faith and involvement in her church communities. She was a past member of Normandale Baptist Church and later became a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of White Settlement. Her passion for her faith was also evident in her active participation in “Windows of Faith,” where she found profound joy and forged beloved friendships with a purpose of serving others. Jo Dean was a cherished member and leader of Rebecca’s, a testament to her dedication not just to spirituality but also to fellowship and community service. The essence of Jo Dean’s personality was her kindness. Whether lending a helping hand or offering a comforting word, she was always there to provide solace and support to those in need.

One of Jo Dean’s greatest joys in life was her family. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Jo Dean’s home was a warm and inviting haven, especially during the holidays, where her love for cooking brought family and friends together around her table. Her cooking was legendary, and her specialty dishes of peanut butter cookies, cheese rolls, and roast beef were cherished, passed down through generations, carrying the warmth and love with which they were made.

Jo Dean enjoyed the simple things in life. Playing cards, dominos, and board games with her grandchildren brought her immense joy. She was also known for baking wedding and birthday cakes for her friends and family, and for sewing and making dresses for her daughters and granddaughters. Remarkably, she learned to drive when she was 70, showing her resilience and willingness to embrace new challenges.

Her long, beautiful life was touched by loss, with several family members preceding her in death, including her father Marvin Jaggars, her mother Etta Bell Jaggars, her husband Weldon Lippard, daughters Cynthia Warner and Marlina Capps, her sister Arita Bell Johnson, her brothers Marvin “Butus” Jaggars, Waymon Jaggars, and Rayford Jaggars, her granddaughter Michelle Capps, and her great-grandson Matthew Simmons. Yet, she carried these losses with grace, strengthened by her faith and compassion. Jo is survived by her sister Patsy Howell, 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

The family is grateful for the community’s support and invites friends and loved ones to the forthcoming services:
