John Samuel Serio, 53, of Stephenville, TX was called home on Friday, February 21, 2025 after battling stage 4 metastatic malignant melanoma. He leaves behind his wife, Devon Joy Serio, his son, Nicholas Samuel Serio of Allen, TX, and his brother, David Manson of New Jersey. He was a proud stepfather to Kaylie Carter and husband, Dylan, of Columbus, OH, Matthew Noy of Trinidad, CO, and Katy Noy of Stephenville, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.


John was born on May 13, 1971 and raised in Baltimore, MD by his loving parents John Frank and Camille Mary (Gugliuzza) Serio. He graduated Baltimore International College with a bachelors degree in hospitality and culinary arts in 1999 and worked as a chef at a variety of fine dining restaurants in the Baltimore area. He married Devon Joy Detillion on December 22, 2023, in Granbury, TX and they cherished spending time together with their extended loving family.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Cowboy Church of Erath County in Stephenville, TX at 2 p.m.

John enjoyed playing video games and RPG and was proud of his professional wrestling career from 1993 until 1997. He was a lifelong pet owner and lover of animals.


John’s Faith was a source of comfort during his health battles. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Stephen’s Home Health and The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders for their compassionate care during John’s illness.


John Samuel Serio was a beacon of love in the lives of many. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May his soul rest in peace and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
