STEPHENVILLE – The Texans’ final day of their 15-game homestand was one for the record books. Hannah Blincoe, a senior right-handed pitcher from Georgetown, Texas, tossed just the 12th no-hitter in program history as the Purple and White shut out the New Mexico Lobos 2-0.

After earning the start in the circle and her second victory of the season on Friday vs. Yale (W, 7-5), Blincoe earned the start once again, this time vs. the Lobos of New Mexico.

Austin Germain once again led off for the 15th straight time this season and wasted no time leaving her impact on the game. Germain took the Lobos deep right off the bat to left field scoring what ended up being the standing go-ahead run.

The Texans’ second run came in the fourth inning as Tristyn Trull singled to right and advanced to third on an error as Germain advanced to second and scored on the error making it 2-0, the final.

For the Texans, Blincoe went all seven innings as she gave up no runs on no hits and walked just two. She struck out nine which marks the most by a Texan in an outing thus far this season. Her nine punchouts beat the previous high of eight which her and freshman Shelby Schultz shared.

For the Lobos, Natalie Fritz started in the circle and went three innings before being pulled. She gave up one run (Germain HR, earned) on three hits. She also walked five Texans and struck out four as well. After Fritz was pulled, Lexi Atcitty took over and went the final three innings as she gave up one run on two hits, walked one and struck out three.

For the second day in a row, Tarleton State run-rule walked-off the Lady Tigers, this go-around scoring 10.

In a game that lasted just under two hours, the Purple and White hit double digits in a contest for the third time this season, all of them ending early due to the run rule.

With Germain on in the first, Trull singled to right center scoring the leadoff hitting and giving the Texans the early 1-0 lead.

In the top half of the second, the Lady Tigers scored their two runs of the ball game as Penelope Saenz doubled to right as Lanay Carr and Madison Battle scored to make it 2-1.

The bottom of the third saw the Texans tie things up 2-2 as Kalyn Hill doubled to left center scoring Hayden Fox.

In the final two innings Tarleton State dropped eight runs to end things early as the celebration continued to roll on from Game 1 of the day.

With Isabella Bojkovic on, Haley Hughes tripled to center making it 3-2 Purple and White. Hughes then scored on a sac bunt by Fox to make it 4-2. Trull then stepped to the plate and hit a solo shot to move it to 5-2.

The fifth inning started with a bang as Bojkovic hit a leadoff solo shot to make it 6-2. The long ball marked her first collegiate home run. Trull once again made an impact as she singled through the right-side, scoring Hannah Reed to make it 7-2. Two batters later, Casey Schultz stepped to the plate with bases loaded and hit a single to first base scoring Braylin Pannill to push the lead to 8-2. Bella Hernandez took one for the team as she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded as Riley McDaniel scored making it 9-2. McDaniel came in to run for Hill after she reached on a walk. Bojkovic wasn’t done putting her name in the history books as she reached on an error by the Lady Tigers’ second baseman allowing Casey Schultz to score the winning run as Tarleton State run-rule walked-off the Lady Tigers two days in a row.

For the Texans, Shelby Schultz went one inning as she gave up two runs (both earned) on four hits while she struck out two. Alexa Rehmeier (W, 2-1) then took over for the final four innings as she gave up no runs on two hits while she struck out six and walked four.

For the Lady Tigers, the visitors used four different arms. Kaelani Randle got the start but went just a third of an inning as she gave up one run (earned) on three hits and struck out one. Kylie Wilson (L, 0-2) took the loss as she pitched the meat of the game for the road team going 3.2 IP giving up five runs (all earned) on six hits while walking five and striking out two. Kristen Driver went two-thirds of an inning and gave up four runs (one earned) on two hits and walked a pair. Melonie Guardiola was the final Lady Tiger to take the circle as she didn’t record an out as Bojkovic reached on the error and Casey Schultz scored the run-rule walk-off run.

Tarleton State is set to return to action on Tuesday as the Purple and White will hit the road for the first time this season as they head south to take on the Cougars from Houston. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
