Marjorie Kathrine Brown of Hico, Texas passed from this Earthly life on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Marjorie was born on July 16, 1934, to her parents, Elvie and Uel Stagner. She attended and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. She was a devout Christian, strong in her faith and love for the church, always attending church functions. Marjorie cherished her role as a stay-at-home mom and loved her family wholeheartedly. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, and enjoyed music. Known for her love of children and serving her community, she ran her own daycare for 25 years and helped in others for many more years. Most importantly, she loved her husband, Elbert Ray Brown, and the life they created together. Their journey took them from Fort Worth, Texas, to California, and back to Hico, Texas, where they retired in 1994. 

Marjorie is preceded in passing by her parents, Elvie and Uel Stagner, her husband, Elbert Ray Brown, three siblings, Truman Stagner, Edward Stagner, and Thelma Jernigan, and her son, Dennis Brown. 

She is survived by her children, Charles Brown, Kathryn Brown, and Jim Brown; grandchildren, Derek and Rhonda Baker, Marci McClanahan, Andrew Brown; and great-grandchildren, Hayden Baker, Hunter Baker, and Violet Brown.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 1:30pm at Harrell Funeral Home. 
Graveside services will follow the visitation at 2:30 at the Barbee Cemetery.
