STEPHENVILLE – This summer, Tarleton State soccer will be hosting four camps in total, with three ID camps and one future Texans camp.

Three of the four camps will be ID Camps, open for eighth graders to seniors in high school as well as junior college and transfers as well, who hope to show the skills in front of the coaching staff for a chance to be a future Texan. These camps will include skill work, and scrimmage games at the end of camp. The three ID camps are set for May 3rd, May 31st and July 26th. The first camp on May 3rd will be held from 1-4 pm in the afternoon. The second two camps will be held from 10am to 1 pm. Each ID camp costs 101 dollars per participant.
Additionally, the program will host a Future Texans camp open for boys and girls, ages 5-12. This will be a three-day camp running from 8:30 am to 11 am spanning from July 14th to the 16th. The focus of this camp is to introduce and enhance soccer skills to the younger kids of Stephenville and the surrounding areas. Throughout the course of the camp skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and defense will be worked on as well as playing several fun games as well. The cost of the three-day camp is $117 total.
This past season, the Texans earned their first bid to the WAC Women’s Soccer Championship. Tarleton State set new program records with nine overall wins and three conference victories. The defensive put up historic totals posting a goal against average less than 1 per game (0.95) and eight total shutouts, both new season bests.
In addition to their success on the field, the Texans set a new department record with a 3.80 GPA during the fall semester. The squad also set a new team record with 19 student-athletes posting a perfect 4.0 GPA during the term.
The Texan soccer program will begin its fourth season in the fall of 2025. Head coach Pete Cuadrado and assistant coach Rex Carrell have been with the program since its inception in 2021. Assistant Coach Lexi Stinson joins the Texan staff for her first season on the bench after spending the last eight years as the head coach of the University of Dallas women’s soccer program.
