Valentine Palma, 92, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, in Granbury, TX. A funeral service for Valentine will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Albert Oliveira officiating. Her burial will follow at New Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, Texas. A visitation for Valentine will be held one hour prior to her service from 9:00-10:00 a.m., April 18, 2025.

Valentine was born in Sweetwater, Texas on February 14, 1933, to her parents Francisco Gomez and Manuela (Quintero) Gomez. She married Amado “Amos” Palma on December 28, 1950, in Sweetwater, Texas. Amos Preceded her in death on August 8, 2020. Valentine actively volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Quilting Club of Midland, Texas, the Senior Citizens Center, and cooking for the Klebitt Children’s Christian camp and free lunches for high school students at the North A Church of Christ.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family and was known for having a helping, kind heart. She loved quilting, sewing, cooking, and she loved to play “Wahoo” marble game.

She is survived by her children, Catalina Barker and husband Scott of Granbury, Texas, Helen Mabee and husband Guy of Gordon, Texas, and Irene Carrier and husband John of Carbondale, Illionois; Sister in-laws, Dilia Steltzlen of Garland, Texas, Velia Martinez of Abilene, Texas, and Angelita Palma of San Angelo, Texas; Grandchildren, Jarrod Barker, Lindsay Wilbert, Kyle Barker, Ashlie McCright, Raegan Brown, Courtney Jolliffe, Angie Garcia, Amanda Bucy, and Carrie Gill; and 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband Amos Palma, her daughter Linda Lorck who passed away September 12, 2021, and her granddaughter Lisa Ziegenfuss who passed away January 28, 2024.

She was named Valentine because she was born on Valentine’s Day and God must have known that she had a heart of gold full of love! She will be greatly missed.
