STEPHENVILLE – Just a few short months off of the program’s first WAC Tournament appearance, Tarleton State soccer notched five wins during their spring season.
The Texan offense was in full force this spring scoring 16 goals across the eight contests. The defense played admirably as well notching five shutouts.
“This spring presented a lot of different challenges to our team,” sad head coach Pete Cuadrado at the end of the season. “There were a lot of positives that came out of it as well as some things to work on and get better at. We are looking forward to building off of the spring and applying it when we get back on the field in August.”
The Purple and White returned the majority of its roster with three new signees for this spring. Australians Zoe Daly and Phoebe Riley join the squad as freshman enrolling for the spring semester. Zoe Ballard, a freshman transfer from Northern Arizona was also with the squad in her first semester as a Texan.
Tarleton State garnered wins over Hill College, Midwestern State, Lamar, Trinity Valley Community College and Ranger College. The Texans continued their dominance of Southland conference opponents with a win at Lamar, who reached the conference tournament last fall. The Texans posted a tie at North Texas who posted a winning season in 2024 and earned a spot in the AAC Tournament.
The Texans reached the WAC Tournament for the first time in program history last fall. Tarleton State set a new program high in wins and had a winning record on the road. The Texans have the highest winning percentage and most wins among programs to have originated since 2015.
Next fall the Texans are expected to have eight seniors on their roster, with seven of those having spent all four years with the program. In total, the Purple and White will have eight players from their inaugural season on the roster including redshirt junior Rylie Bloomfield.
Tarleton State will now gear up for their fourth season next fall. The Texans are expected to release more schedule information later this summer.
