Celebrating the Life of Clinton “CC” Priddy

It’s with love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Clinton Coe “CC” Priddy, age 87, who passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

Funeral Service & Visitation

Visitation will be held at Stephenville Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 5, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:00 a.m. by stepson-in-law Bryan Jackson. Interment will follow at Cow Creek Cemetery in Dublin, Texas.

Clinton was born on January 3, 1938, in Nocona, Texas, to Howard Coe and Nona Edna Vowell Priddy. He married Betty Cary on December 28, 1955, and together they raised two sons, Randall Coe and Clinton Mark, in Haltom City, Texas. On June 5, 1987, Clinton married Virginia Annette Payne, and for more than 40 years they shared a life full of laughter, faith, and love. Together, they made their home in Stephenville, Texas, where Clinton became known for his quick wit, resourceful mind, and his ability to fix or build just about anything. A true craftsman at heart, Clinton worked as a lineman for TXU for over 36 years, spending decades climbing poles and keeping the lights on for others in storms, cold nights, and blazing Texas summers. His courage, dedication, and quiet strength earned him the respect of all who knew him.

Clinton was a man of faith and belonged to the Church of Christ. He had a special love for people, especially over a cup of coffee at Jake & Dorothy’s Café, where the fellowship meant more to him than the food. His humor, honesty, and “make-do” wisdom reflected the best of a generation that built things to last, from friendships to family values. He was incredibly inventive, could repair or reimagine almost anything, and never met a challenge he couldn’t find a creative way around. In his later years, he enjoyed whittling, collecting hit-and-miss engines, and sharing stories that mixed humor, faith, and simple truth.

Clinton is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Payne-Priddy; his son, Randall Priddy of Fort Worth; grandchildren Clinton Mark Priddy Jr., Curtis Coe Priddy, and Jennifer Pegg; and great-grandchildren Emma Priddy, Megan Priddy, Kadance Coe Priddy, and Olivia Priddy. He is also survived by his sister, Reta Priddy Boyle, and by his extended family, stepchildren Tina Jackson, Rusty Kea, and Emory Kea; step-grandchildren Daniel Jackson, Dustin Tye Jackson, Kasey Wallace, Lindsey Kea Newton, Jacob Kea, Mallory Rockwell, Megan White, Collin Kea, Caden Kea, Jonathan Moore, Jason Moore, and Niki Moore Hatzenbuehler – along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Clinton “Mark” Priddy; and his sister Glenda Finley.

Clinton lived a life of grit, humor, and quite faith – a steady hand, a sharp mind, and a tender heart. His family and friends will forever cherish his stories, his laugh, and his famous reminder to “Save your money.”

May he rest in peace, reunited with loved ones and in the everlasting light of his Savior.
