STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State senior women’s golfer Lou Deltombe was named the WAC Women’s Golfer of the Month for October, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Deltombe earns her first weekly or monthly WAC honor in her career. She was tabbed 2025 All-WAC Second Team last spring. The senior posted a pair of top 15 finishes in two of the Texans three tournaments in October. She shot par on 111 of the 162 holes she played this month, the most by any Texan in October. In each of the three tournaments, she ranked in the top four in the field in total pars. The La Chapelle Sur Edre, France, native, turned in a pair of under par rounds, shooting a low of 71 twice during the month.
“I am super proud of Lou achieving Golfer of the Month,” said head coach Isabel Jimenez. “She has been very consistent throughout this fall and this is a great way to finish the fall season. I look forward to the spring and seeing her compete during her last season as a Texan.”
She opened the month with a top 30 finish at the Marilynn Smith Invitational. Deltombe was very consistent across the three rounds carding a 75 in the first round followed by a pair of 76’s in the final two rounds. The senior tied for the second most total pars across the 54 holes totaling, 39.
In her second tournament of October, Deltombe tied her best finish of the fall at the Powercat Invitational. She finished tied for 12th for the second time this fall. In the second consecutive event in the state of Kansas, she opened with a 73, one-over par round and finished the first round ranked in the top five. She finished with a 79 and 77 in her final two rounds to card a 13-over par, 229. This time around she parred 33 of the 54 holes, to tie for the fourth most in the field.
Deltombe turned in her best score of the fall at The Clash at Boulder Creek. In the final tournament of the fall campaign, she shot an even par, 216 to finish tied for 15th. She opened with a one-under par, 71. She ended the first round ranked within the top five and ended the day at even par after shooting a one-over, 73. In the final round of the event she carded her second under-par round of the tournament with another 71. On the ninth hole of her first round, she carded a first eagle of the season tallying a three on the par five. Deltombe was one of two Texans to eagle that hole, joined by freshman Gina Chen. She also recorded 39 total pars, to tie for the third most in the entire field.
Tarleton State Women’s Golf will be back in action in the spring. Their schedule will be announced in the coming weeks. The Texans will look to defend their WAC title at the 2026 WAC Championships at the Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas, on April 20-22.
